I’ve been working on garage doors since 2015, when I started Servo under The Haven Standard with one truck and a rule I still enforce: the customer sees the failed part before anyone quotes a replacement. That’s Clause 4, and it’s why my phone still rings at midnight with emergency calls from Sienna Plantation and Quail Valley. I hold a Texas Residential Appliance Installer License and specialize in torsion spring systems on older wood doors, the kind you see in First Colony that have settled unevenly after thirty Houston summers. Off the clock, I rebuild vintage motorcycles and apply the same patience to a 1973 Honda that I use tracing a intermittent limit switch fault in a Genie Excelerator.
Ramon V., Senior Installer
Ramon joined us in 2019 after eight years with a commercial door company in Pasadena, and he brought with him a tolerance for Texas heat that the rest of us envy. He’s our lead on new door installations across Missouri City, from standard steel raised-panel jobs in Lake Olympia to full custom carriage-house setups in Riverstone. Ramon is Clopay Master Authorized and handles our Amarr and Wayne Dalton product lines, but his real specialty is retrofitting modern opener systems onto 1980s track configurations without tearing out the entire header. He keeps a notebook of every oddball bracket and adapter he’s fabricated, and he’s competitive about it, which is why our install backlog is shorter than it should be. His daughter plays softball at Thurgood Marshall High, so you’ll catch him rushing out to catch the second game of a doubleheader when the schedule allows.
Denise K., Service Coordinator
Denise is the voice you hear when you call (346) 456-5565 at 2 AM with a door off its track. She’s been with us since 2017, and she’s the reason our emergency response actually works: she knows which technician is closest to your neighborhood, who’s carrying the right spring stock for your door weight, and whether that oddball Raynor model from 2006 needs a part we should order now or source from our Dallas warehouse. Denise holds a Haven Standard dispatch certification and manages our documented photo record system, reviewing every technician’s upload before it reaches the customer. She grew up in Fresno, Texas, and she still lives there, which means she understands the difference between a Missouri City call and a Sienna Plantation call without checking the map. Her desk has a running bet on which technician will forget to photograph the old part before removal. Marcus is currently losing.
James T., Apprentice Technician
James started with us in 2023 after a career change from commercial HVAC, and he’s the reason we can say we train our own. He’s completed his first 400 supervised calls and is licensed for unsupervised repair work as of last March. James specializes in opener diagnostics, particularly LiftMaster and Chamberlain logic board failures, which he’s gotten fast at tracing because he refuses to guess. He’s methodical in a way that annoys Ramon, who likes to move, but his callback rate is zero so far. James lives in Pearland and commutes up 288, which means he’s usually the first to volunteer for early calls in the eastern parts of our service area. He owns a drone he flies at Tom Bass Park on Sundays, and he’s already used it twice to photograph storm damage on garage door panels when a ladder wouldn’t reach safely.
